The Role
This is a leadership role at the intersection of platform engineering, cloud infrastructure, and reliability.
As a Platform Engineering Manager, you will lead a team responsible for ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability of critical SaaS systems. You will combine hands-on technical depth with strong people leadership to drive both execution and long-term platform strategy.
You will work closely with product and engineering teams, translating business needs into robust, scalable platform solutions while building a culture of ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
What You Will Own
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing Platform/SRE team
- Drive delivery of platform initiatives aligned with product and technology roadmaps
- Own system reliability, performance, and uptime across cloud environments
- Implement and evolve monitoring, alerting, and observability systems
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement practices
- Ensure scalability of infrastructure to support growth in traffic and data
- Optimize platform efficiency through automation and internal tooling
- Provide technical leadership through architecture reviews, design guidance, and mentoring
- Partner with engineering teams to build reliable, observable, and scalable systems
- Drive innovation within platform engineering and propagate best practices across teams
What You Bring
- 8+ years of software engineering experience with strong backend foundations (.NET preferred)
- 3+ years of experience leading Platform Engineering or SRE teams
- Proven experience building and operating high-availability SaaS platforms
- Strong expertise in cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or similar)
- Strong understanding of observability tools (Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, etc.)
- Ability to translate complex technical problems into scalable solutions
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Nice to Have
- Cloud or DevOps certifications (AWS, Azure, Kubernetes)
- Experience with database performance and optimization (MSSQL or similar)
- Exposure to frontend technologies (React)
- Experience working in globally distributed teams
