Role Overview
As a Staff Software Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in building and evolving the data platforms that power enterprise-grade AI products. You will work closely with engineering, AI/ML, and product teams to design scalable, high-performance distributed systems deployed across global environments.
This is a hands-on architectural role where depth of engineering meets large-scale impact.
Key Responsibilities
Architect and build a scalable data engineering platform operating across multiple cloud providers.
Design and implement distributed applications using technologies such as Spark, Databricks, and BigQuery.
Develop AI-powered applications and contribute to broader AI strategy initiatives.
Write clean, maintainable, production-grade code aligned with modern software engineering standards.
Participate across the full development lifecycle, from requirements and design to testing and release.
Optimize and troubleshoot large-scale cloud-native systems for performance, resilience, and scalability.
Collaborate cross-functionally with AI/ML, product, and UX teams to translate business needs into technical solutions.
Ensure strong adherence to security and data privacy standards when handling enterprise data.
Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support seamless deployment and version control.
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
5–7 years of hands-on software development experience.
Strong proficiency in Java and Python, with experience in API development.
Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot or Vert.x.
Expertise in databases including Postgres, MongoDB, or MySQL.
Experience working with cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong understanding of software engineering principles including version control, code reviews, and test-driven development.
Excellent problem-solving skills and communication abilities.
Comfort operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Experience
Proficiency in Spark or managed Spark services such as Dataproc or Databricks.
Experience with Airflow.
Familiarity with cloud data warehouses such as Snowflake or BigQuery.
Working knowledge of JavaScript or TypeScript.
Experience with containers and Kubernetes.
Exposure to DevOps tools such as Jenkins and CI/CD workflows.
Knowledge of Linux environments.
Prior experience contributing to AI research, development, or implementation initiatives.
