• You understand and can explain design choices made, pro n cons of the same.
• Committer ship at major open source projects (such as Apache Spark, Apache Hadoop, Apache Flink, Apache Kafka) would be a huge plus.

• 7+ years experience building software solutions in a corporate or startup engineering environment using C++ and/or Java, Python.
• Experience with big data and large-scale data processing technologies (e.g Hadoop, Spark, Cassandra, Kafka).
• Experience with open source search engine Lucene, Solr, ElasticSearch will be a big plus.
• It helps if last 3-4 projects are about big data processing, you have architected/ designed for solving a large scale problem, low latency, high throughput scenarios.
• Experience building and operating scalable, fault-tolerant, distributed systems.
