Role Overview
As a Senior Backend Engineer (Python), you’ll design and build robust, scalable backend systems powering modern web and mobile applications. This role combines deep hands-on development with architectural thinking, cloud-native execution, and close collaboration with frontend, product, and design teams.
What You’ll Do
Design, develop, and operate scalable backend systems using Python
Build and evolve RESTful APIs using modern frameworks like FastAPI
Contribute to backend architecture and technical design decisions
Integrate backend services with databases, frontend apps, and third-party systems
Write clean, production-grade code focused on performance, reliability, and readability
Participate in code reviews and raise engineering best practices
Collaborate with product managers and frontend engineers to deliver end-to-end solutions
Diagnose and resolve production issues to ensure system stability
Implement unit and integration testing strategies
Support and mentor junior engineers through knowledge sharing
What You Bring
5–8+ years of backend development experience with Python
Strong experience with FastAPI, Flask, or Django
Solid understanding of REST APIs, backend service design, and integrations
Hands-on experience with PostgreSQL/MySQL and ORMs
Knowledge of async programming in Python
Experience deploying backend services on AWS, GCP, or Azure
Familiarity with Docker, CI pipelines, and modern deployment workflows
Strong grasp of backend security, authentication, and authorization
Excellent problem-solving skills and independent ownership mindset
Nice to Have
Experience with event-driven systems, background jobs, or message queues
Exposure to microservices or service-oriented architectures
Experience building high-traffic or performance-critical systems
Open-source contributions or a strong backend engineering portfolio
