Full Job Description
This role sits at the core of a security platform focused on high-performance networking, traffic interception, and secure system design. The work involves building and extending advanced proxy and interception systems that operate at scale and under real-world security constraints, directly contributing to securing AI-driven systems while using AI to strengthen security outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
Architect, develop, and maintain high-performance network interception and traffic reconstruction systems.
Provide technical leadership to a small engineering team through architectural guidance, mentorship, and code reviews.
Design, manage, and evolve complex build systems using Make, CMake, Autoconf, and related tooling.
Implement advanced traffic interception logic using deep knowledge of TCP, UDP, and OSI layers.
Apply strong expertise in SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, and PKI to support secure traffic inspection and validation.
Extend and customize proxy technologies such as Squid, Envoy, and NGINX for advanced traffic handling requirements.
Apply strong software engineering practices including SOLID principles, object-oriented design, and modular architectures.
Collaborate with engineering and security stakeholders to ensure performance, scalability, and reliability of the platform.
Required Qualifications
Expert-level proficiency in C, C++, or Rust, with a strong systems-level programming background.
Proven experience building and maintaining complex build systems (Make, CMake, Autoconf, etc.).
Strong foundation in networking protocols, including TCP/IP, UDP, and OSI layers.
Deep understanding of proxy internals, traffic interception, and packet reconstruction.
Solid experience with SSL/TLS, X.509 certificates, certificate validation, and PKI infrastructure.
Demonstrated ability to deliver complex systems using object-oriented design and SOLID principles.
Hands-on experience customizing or developing with Squid, Envoy, or NGINX.
Strong debugging skills, attention to detail, and the ability to solve complex, low-level problems.
Experience leading or mentoring engineers in a technical capacity.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with traffic analysis and protocol inspection tools such as Wireshark or tcpdump.
Knowledge of the Linux networking stack, Netfilter, iptables, or eBPF.
Background in cybersecurity or secure communications.
Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
