Role Overview
As Engineering Manager – Key-Value Engine, you will lead a Bengaluru-based team of high-calibre engineers. Manage the architecture, performance, and scalability of a world-class key-value engine, while mentoring engineers and driving technical excellence across the platform. This is a hands-on leadership role where your expertise in C++, distributed systems, and cloud-scale databases will shape the future of enterprise applications.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development of the world’s fastest, scalable, richly-functional key-value engine
Hire, manage, and mentor engineers to maximize output and technical growth
Collaborate with Product Management and peers to define requirements and architectural approaches
Work with Technical Support to triage, debug, and resolve high-priority customer issues
Review code and occasionally contribute patches to core platform components
Guide, review, and author design and requirement documents as needed
Understand and influence protocols, distributed transactions, and high-performance caching
Communicate team progress and wins to peers and engineering leadership
Required Skills & Experience
BS/MS in Computer Science or equivalent technical experience
Strong C++ skills with 3+ years of production-level experience
2+ years as a Software Engineering Manager or Technical Lead
Proven experience in distributed systems, cloud databases, and high-performance infrastructure
Excellent communicator: specific, thoughtful, and clear
Humble, emotionally intelligent, and aligned with servant leadership principles
