As the Director of Engineering, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our product vision and driving its successful execution. You’ll lead a team of talented software developers, content developers, quality engineers, and product managers, ensuring all aspects of the product development lifecycle run smoothly.
Here’s what you’ll do As a Director of Engineering:
- Lead by Example: Guide your team in delivering solutions that align with our software architecture strategy, coding standards, and established best practices.
- Shape the Future: Actively participate in software architecture discussions, influencing decisions to maintain consistency across the organization.
- Continuous Improvement Champion: Drive initiatives to refine our delivery capabilities, ensuring we stay ahead of the curve.
- Strategic Visionary: Contribute to the overall product strategy, including defining processes for development and architecture.
- Delivering Excellence: Implement a mature, repeatable development process that guarantees on-time delivery of high-quality enterprise-grade products with committed features.
- Building Champions: Actively mentor and develop your team, fostering a highly motivated, enthusiastic, and skilled workforce equipped with the latest tools to deliver cutting-edge solutions.
- People Leader: Manage all personnel activities for your team, including hiring, training, goal setting, performance reviews, and providing constructive feedback.
We’re looking for someone with:
- Extensive Experience: 17+ years of experience, with at least 8-10 years leading software development teams or projects.
- Technical Expertise: Excellent knowledge of software development design principles and experience with agile methodologies.
- Leadership Acumen: Exceptional organizational, leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.
- Operational Excellence: A strong understanding of incident management, configuration management, operational efficiency, and customer management is a plus.
- Coaching & Mentoring: Proven ability to coach and mentor software developers, develop their skills, provide continuous feedback, and conduct annual reviews.
- Goal-Oriented Leader: A track record of setting clear goals and objectives for direct reports and driving successful outcomes.
- Innovation Champion: A relentless pursuit of improvement, fostering an environment where your team continuously innovates.
- Communication Master: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to connect effectively with all levels of the organization.
- Talent Magnet: The ability to attract and retain top software talent.
Technical Skills:
- Solid Backend & Web Development: 15+ years of experience with Microsoft technology stacks for backend and web applications (.NET framework, .NET core, ASP.net).
- Database Savvy: A strong understanding of database technologies like SQL and Oracle.
- Front-End Expertise: Experience with front-end technologies like React.
- Enterprise Software Knowledge: Familiarity with ERP software like SAP and Oracle E-Business is a plus.
- Tech-Savvy: Knowledge of networking, APIs, and ETL tooling and processes.
- Building at Scale: Experience with building high-volume, high-performance, and scalable enterprise applications.
- Cloud Solutions: Experience with cloud/hosted/SaaS solutions.
- Cloud Expertise: Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and microservices architecture.
- Agile Champion: A good understanding of agile methodologies.
