Multi-billion dollar AI-native company. Global scale. Enterprise deployments. Now hiring a Director who codes-not delegates.
This isn’t a typical Director role. We don’t want someone who used to code. We need someone who still can-and does it during technical screenings without leaning on external tools.
You’ll lead ambitious, cutting-edge AI projects while maintaining the technical depth to evaluate senior engineers yourself. You architect systems. You review code. You debug complex distributed problems. You manage teams-but you never lose touch with the craft.
What You’ll Own:
- System design at scale – Architect distributed AI systems for enterprise deployments
- Technical leadership – Manage senior developers, scale teams as the org grows
- Agentic AI expertise – Current, hands-on knowledge of Agentic AI technologies
- Hard technical screening – Evaluate candidates through live coding and system design without relying on external tools
- Ambitious project delivery – Ship cutting-edge AI products that operate at global scale
Who You Are:
- Systems thinker – Demonstrated strength in distributed system design
- Technical presenter – Articulate complex architectures to engineers and executives
- Active coder – Current coding skills in Go, Java, or Python with deep knowledge of design patterns
- Hands-on evaluator – Can conduct rigorous technical interviews independently
- Startup operator (bonus) – Experience in early or mid-stage startups is a strong plus
- Domain knowledge (bonus) – Prior exposure to SIP, WebRTC
- Education – Bachelor’s in Computer Science (postgraduate is a plus)

- You can’t evaluate senior engineers without external help
- You prefer process management over technical depth
- You’re uncomfortable getting hands-on during crunch time
